Gingivitis
is the first stage of periodontal disease. It is an
inflammation of the gum tissue caused by bacteria (although
most bacteria in our mouth are harmless)
Periodontal
disease is when inflammation and infection destroy the
tissues that support the teeth.
Gingivitis is caused by the
long-term effects of plaque deposits. Plaque is a
sticky material that develops on the teeth, consisting
of bacteria, mucus, and food debris. Bacteria, and the
toxins bacteria produce,
cause the gums to become infected, swollen, and
tender.
Unremoved
plaque mineralizes into a hard porous deposit called
tartar/calculus that becomes trapped at the base of
the tooth.Bacteria
will multiply there producing and keeping inflammation.
Between the root and the gum, a space develops (the
gingival bag) which is an ideal place for bacteria
to live. The more persistent the inflammation is, the
bigger will be the space.Oral hygiene will be more
difficult. Thus, inflammation can easily spread into
the jawbone. This will bring about the deterioration
and destruction of the bone .Then the tooth will come
loose and finally it will be lost.
THE TREATMENT OF PARADONTOSIS.
Modern periodontics has made recent important progress
in the field of the treatments of gum diseases. The
relevance of this fact lies in the scientific proofs
that we now have to justify the negative effects of
dental diseases on people´s health. Nowadays, it is
easily justifiable the appearance of some illnesses on
people with dental diseases.
Paradontosis may be directly related to the
possibility of suffering from heart attack, brain
apoplexy, diabetes, pneumonia or arthritis. In the
same way, women with dental diseases are more likely
to have a miscarriage or give birth underdeveloped
babies than women with healthy gums. Paradontosis may
also affect smokers in a greater percentage.
The latest modern treatments of parodontosis make us
lose all fear. By means of the latest ultrasound
devices the calculus is taken out of the deepest root
cavities with the highest care and without hurting as
far as possible. Normally, the treatment will be
carried out under local anesthesia. At the same time,
the deformities in the bones may be filled with
materials.
In spite of severe damages, healthy and strong gums
can be reestablished by means of our natural
treatments. We can help you avoid a premature dental
loss. You will need to follow a programme of
individual prevention and the right instructions after
