The latest innovations
regarding anesthesia allow us to operate under general anesthesia
without any risks in outpatient surgery.
General anesthesia can be
administered as an inhaled gas or as an injected liquid..
A tube will be placed into the trachea to let the patient breath
artificially. The
anesthesiologist monitors vital organ functions during surgery.
Anesthesia will last as
long as necessary to carry out the operation.
After the surgery, the
patient goes to the recovery room for constant monitoring until he or
she awakens. Once the patient has recovered consciousness and his
blood pressure and mobility have been restored is ready to be
discharged from the recovery room..
If necessary, he will be given medication to be discharged. After
being discharged, the patient mustn´t do any activity which implies
physical and/or mental effort or operating any type of machine.
Prior to the day of surgery,
the patient meets his/her anesthesiologist. The anesthesiologist may
ask several questions about his/her medical history and he/she will
examine the patient. If the patient is scheduled to have surgery,
he/she may be told not to eat anything for eight hours prior to
surgery. In case
the patient needs prescribed medication, he/she will take it with a
sip of water.
